I think this one looks a little bit too posed. I think it's the hand under the chin that does it. I wouldn't say it makes you look like you're planning something though. More like you've already done something and you're trying to hide it. *grin*
Yeah--it's hard to make these shots look casual. I brought in printouts of Neil Gaiman images as examples of what I was looking for because he *always* looks natural. If it hadn't been so blasted cold outside, I'd have tried for some outdoor/leaning against a building shots, but it was not to be.
Thank you. My dream cut is way too short for me to handle. There's a woman on one of the Dennis Hopper retirement plan commercials--and who would have ever thought that Hopper would ever be caught dead doing financial planning commercials, but it's almost 40 years since Easy Rider, and a ponder for another day--who has my dream look. She's 50ish, with skin tanned enough to make a dermatologist shudder, and she has an iron grey/silver crop that's about an inch or so long all over. It helps that she has a perfectly shaped head--skull shape is vital when you go that short--but she just looks so cool and outdoorsy and classy. My new icon.
