As you can see, I've changed my LJ scheme again. If my hair were long enough, I'd get it cut. Maybe I'll color it, just to get that change thing going.
Much of the junk that was atop the desk is now on the floor. Tonight we will sort and shred and toss.
I'm thinking of signing up for a My Space page--do you folks who have one find it worth the extra work?

Date: 2007-02-23 10:40 am (UTC)I found myself ridiculously popular for about a week or two there, which amounted to probably over 4000 friend requests and 40K+ pageviews of my profile. After people started asking me for the published story that I mentioned in my profile, I put up a link to the PDF of Subterranean #4 (http://scalzi.com/subterranean_issue_4.pdf). Scalzi said about 400 download requests came through in those first two weeks, which accounted for around half of all downloads in that time frame.
So... interesting. If you think the banner ads are obnoxious, some people's profiles are downright traumatic. Like Jim, I've managed to link up with a couple of old classmates and even a Marine from my Boot Camp platoon. http://www.myspace.com/davidklecha (http://www.myspace.com/davidklecha) if you decide to stick with it.

Date: 2007-02-24 03:00 am (UTC)Definitely an interesting dynamic at work there, not at all the sort of thing I've found on LJ. Not bad, just different ;)
Except for some of the eye-searing themes. Those are just bad. Mine is just generic for now, until I get up the energy to go looking.
