My day off

About 1100 words so far today. Got the argument scene worked out. I may go back and tweak later, but it says what it has to. Someday I will write a knock-down, drag-out, vase-tossing spectacular, but this scene ain't it.

Earlier this month, I had my first massage in 3 1/2 years, a hot stone thing that was relaxing, but didn't really address the board that my upper back had become. So two weeks ago, I had another go. 45 minutes on the upper back only, and 15 minutes compression on the legs. The masseuse could feel the knots in my shoulders, and she worked on them. At times, it was damned uncomfortable, but I know I didn't have a choice. When I did that yoga exercise where you entwine your arms and stretch your shoulders, I felt the pull all across my back. That isn't good.

Anyway, my shoulders felt better than they had in years. I was a little sore the next day--masseuse warned me that I would be--but I could feel the difference. So tomorrow, I'm going back for another round. I am going to try to do this at least once a month because, well, I like it.

And Sunday, I'm gettin' me 'air cut.

I've got issues with my hip flexors. I got tired of going "owww" during my massages and my new masseuse showed me some stretches. So far, they seem to be helping since I didn't yell any on thursday :D

If you press the insides of my calves, and the insides or outsides of my thighs, it's owie city. I'm just a tightened-up mess.

My masseuse showed me a stretch for the flexors, which I better practice before the next session or I'll go through the ceiling when she touches my legs.

And until I build up my inner quads, I need to ease up on the jogging. The insides of both knees still hurt a bit. I've been icing them before working out, then jogging less or adding in walking on an incline. I still get a workout, but it's not the same.

I remember when I could do backbends. What the hell happened?
