GAAHHHHHHHHHH!!

ksmithIt's mud season here and I'm SICK OF IT. The dogs ran the fence with the neighbor's dog, barking. When I went out to hush them up, King ran inside, muddy feet and all. Flecks of mud and dirty prints everywhere, including my bedspread (he jumped on the bed, then off), my iBook, and assorted magazines. My new copy of What Color Is My Parachute. Then Mickey came in behind him, and two wipedowns with a dry towel haven't been enough to clean him off. The rugs and floor need a cleaning, it's too early to plant anything along the fence to break up the party on a permanent basis, and they're still predicting damp and dreary off and on for the next week.
I hope it's sunny in Charlottesville.
The day job was irritating on so many levels I've lost count.
I remember reading that David Baldacci hated his day job as a lawyer so much that he spent four or five hours a night for three months pounding out the book that became his first bestseller. I think that's what it takes to induce change, anger on so many levels that remaining in one place just becomes impossible. You act or you explode, and if you focus the energy, you keep moving forward.

Date: 2004-03-17 09:56 am (UTC)Thanks on the specs. I have received more compliments on these frames than any others I've ever had. And now that the new Transitions lenses were put in, they work as sunglasses as well, which is time-saving. I was tired of hunting for the sunglass attachments I'd been using for a few years.
I have applied for a few jobs here at the current company. All three are types of documents/writing jobs, much different than what I have now. It's anyone's guess whether I'll be asked to interview for any of them, but I did add the novel writing to the Other Interests section of my resume. Yes, I can write. Please give me a job.

For me, it seems that the major factors are how cranky and physically tired I am after the day job. If I'm not, I can come home and rock. If I am, I spend all my time trolling lists and blogs.... :-)
