'twas the Friday before Christmas

a creature stirred here and there
because they blew through their vacation too damned early.

Ok, so it doesn't rhyme.

There are about 4 folks in the office so far. Can you say quiet?

OMG, the dreariness. Rain yesterday, all night, and still. Supposed to continue into the afternoon. The backyard is flooded and the clouds are low and there's fog. Most un-holiday.

Oh well, back to it...

Ugh... can you write while everyone's gone, at least?

I actually do have things I should do. Got a couple of them done this morning. Lunchtime now, so I will try to write a bit. The phones are not ringing, which is nice.

Last line of showers is pushing through. Hope it clears up by the time I get home so the boyz can have a run.

I hope so too. It's clear and sunny here... we've had so many storms lately that my worry was the ferries being shut down before we could get to the parents. No such worries, and we're leaving soon!

Have a great Holiday!

Yet another reason why I've been here for 18 years. We're off until the 2nd.

At least it's easier to get some things done when no one's around.

Hope you have a productive day.

Hope you manage to stay awake. :-)

There are enough folks here. And I have the iPod...

iPod good. :-)

Just a few more hours.

I've got Pandora on here. I was listening to a Christmas stations, but I've switched to one of my Depressed Chick Singer stations. Nothing like a little Aimee Mann to get you into an appropriately dour holiday mood.

I have only one Pandora station, which plays Peter Murphy-style music. I haven't had the ambition to do Christmas music, although an all-Bach & Handel station sounds good right about now...
