Fog

It's foggy. Temps in the 40s. Rained during the night. The snow is almost gone. I guess we're in the midst of a thaw.

I walked down the driveway this morning to pick up the paper, and saw a corner of colored plastic sticking out from beneath the remains of a snowbank. It turned out to be the Dec 1st newspaper, the one I thought hadn't arrived because I couldn't find it in the foot or so of snow that had fallen by the time I went outside to check. Funny--I had wondered whether it had been buried, but somehow I couldn't make myself play Hunt The Paper when I had an 85' driveway to clear.

I'm tired. Didn't sleep well. You hear interesting sounds at 2am. In my case, coyotes. Their strange, insane-sounding yipping. I wonder if they caught something.

Such a dank, blah day. We need some sunshine.

A couple hundred miles to the east, we've got sun and temperatures that have crossed the 50 degree mark. But it is supposed to start raining tonight.

Probably the line of showers that graced my neck of the woods.

It's supposed to stay in the 40s/50s all week, with some sun until the weekend, when we're supposed to get rain again. The backyard is aflood with snowmelt. The dogs need to be toweled down before they can come in the house. It's Spring Mud Season, four months early.

I *hate* Mud Season...

Yeah, we're mired in fog and rain too. Bleh.

Also, love your icon! Is this one of your dogs?

Nope, not one of mine. I found the photo during an online search for rainy day images, and made it into an icon.

It describes my current mood perfectly.

So... I shouldn't mention the blue skies and 75 degrees we have, hum?

I've now got a rather sketchy version of "Vincent" running through my head. It starts with "Foggy, foggy day" and there's something in there about train tracks and deer carcases and you getting pissed off about the natural attraction of puppy to rolling in gross stuff.

I think I'll let it remain sketchy. Probably best for all concerned.
