Had an email from Editor. She likes ENDGAME, but thinks some parts need work. I only hope that the parts she thinks need work and the parts I think need work are the same parts. It makes things...simpler.

*sigh* I wanted this one to be close to done. Guess I know what I'm doing for the month of November.

I could get the edit letter this week.

Isn't this what you do every November? ;-):-)

It'll be great. Except it means it'll be over and that's very sad. ;-(

My deadlines have a history of slopping over into Christmas. Assuming the last delivery date Editor and I discussed still holds, we won't be slopping over into Christmas this year.

That would be nice, especially if there's a check that will slop over into Christmas.

What's next? (I've got my fingers crossed that Magpie Queen might eventually actually see life.)

I would like to do something with MQ. I have built up a small reference library in anticipation. I will write a proposal after I finish J5, and hope for the best.

YEAH! I gotta tell you, some of the images alone from that outline I read, what, four years ago are *still* with me. She's a very evocative character and her world is oh, so interesting.

Four years? Wasn't it longer ago? I want to say MilPhil, but those last few years have started to blur a bit.

It's good to know that parts of it have stayed with you. Those are the sorts of stories that I ideally want to write.

I outlined a *gasp* trilogy. [livejournal.com profile] arcaedia has commented on my magic system, which needs some fleshing out--worldbuilding is my weak spot, and the world and its underpinnings are important aspects of this story. But the storyline has the messy politics I like and great food and clothes and love and hate and passion and some folks even wind up with the people they should wind up with. Imagine that?

A lot of it's a blur. :-) Might have been MilPhil, which would make it *6* years ago. And even greater testament to your ideas. ;-)

Trilogy *good*. I remember you talking about some bits and pieces that hadn't gelled for you just then. As for worldbuilding, I *love* worldbuilding. I also love people ending up with the people they should end up with. Seems to happen far too rarely, IMO. :-)

No--MilPhil was *2001*! I'm pretty sure it was then, because I was in a panic about not having anything other than the Jani series in my head, and I'm pretty sure that particular panic hit in 2001.

I have had other panics since.

You mentioned once that the story made you think of burgundy velvet. That was cool.

Oh! Yeah! The real start of the Millennium. :-) And yes, I do still get that - burgundy velvet and rich brocades. It's still the 'feel' I get when I think of it.
