Live from Madison

Here in my hotel room with a lovely view of Lake Monona. Lunch was a curious "Mixed Grill" consisting of grilled chicken breast, a bratwurst, and a small seasoned tenderloin of beef, all served with grilled flatbread and an ear of corn. A nice cabernet. *And* the restaurant threw in a warm maple-walnut cookie for dessert, which went surprisingly well with the wine.

It's a partly sunny early fall day. Pleasant drive up through Wisconsin farm country. The leaves are just starting to change--greeny-gold with some red-orange thanks to the early-turning sugar maples.

I could wander over to the con hotel and check in today, but I think I'll do it tomorrow. Gonna write now.

Now you're making me nostalgic for that hotel. Best dining view ever (if we're talking about the same one. *grin*) Just a shame the bar closes so early...

Are you talking about the Edgewater? I'm trying to remember the WFC hotels...
