Apple recall

Now Apple is recalling laptop batteries:

Any info on serial numbers, etc, appreciated. I checked the Apple website, but nothing yet.

I installed a new battery in my G4 iBook a month or so ago. I will say that the old battery did get *hot* and seemed to get hotter as its efficiency dropped. This new battery seems to run cooler, although it still gets warm.

Wonder if I'll be getting a new battery...?

Update:there is a link for checking battery serial numbers: http://support.apple.com/batteryprogram/

But the site is a bit...overrun at present.

You may need to return the old one -- did you save it?

(Just speaking from experience with other, unrelated product recalls. No info on this one.)

Yup, I saved it. I was keeping it for emergencies.
