Saturday afternoon
Aug. 12th, 2006 05:32 pmBeautiful day. 70s. Low humidity. Cloudless sky. I was standing out in the sideyard watering shrubs when I looked overhead and saw two hawks circling. If the color of the tail feathers was any indication, they were red-tails. They didn't seem to be going anywhere in particular. Just slow, lazy intersecting loops over the yards. Personally, I think they were scoping for small pets, but that could just be me.
I have seen them swoop through the backyard once or twice. A low-flying hawk will get your attention.
The day job site has quite a bit of undeveloped land. There's a golden eagle there. What a gorgeous animal.
Not quite 1250 words so far today. I'd like to hit 3x that, but we'll see. Back to it...
