Acting question--is there a term for a point on which an actor focuses during a performance (when they're not looking at another actor). Is there even such a term, or am I inventing memories again?

In acting isn't it just a point or mark?

I thought a mark was where they stood onstage. "Hitting their marks."

Ok. Thanks. I had almost settled on the word "prompt", which has its own connotations. I'll have to think about this.
