Every January, I swear that I will keep up with the paperwork, and by April, it all falls apart.

Dug through a stack of To Be Filed to find that I am three, count 'em, THREE months behind in the checkbook entry and reconciliation department. It seems like only yesterday when I updated everything. Damn, where is the year going to...besides Hell in a handbag?

I got April out of the way this evening. Tomorrow I'll do May, and Sunday I'll do June. Then I will be up to date until the next wave of sloth.

Mickey is on Rimadyl for the next week and a half, thanks to some rough play with King that led to a sprained/strained rear right leg muscle. I also need to limit his activity for the next week, which shouldn't be too hard given that temps will be spiking into the 90s during that time. Add in high humidity, which will lead to heat indices of 100+ for the next few days, and what you have is indoor weather. May get some writing done.

I am trying to think of a title for Jani 5, and hitting a wall. I think I've used up all the statute words. Underlying themes of the tale include coming full circle, that fact that under stress, people/beings revert to their inherent nature, that is, no matter how much they try to alter their behavior, people don't change. Betrayal. Self-realization and self-acceptance. As usual, the fact that change in inevitable, and stasis is death.

In relation to another title, one for a possible short story...you know how you get something into your head that you swear is true, to the point that you recall images and and discussions and ads and everything, only to find later that you were wrong wrong wrong? Well, I'd have sworn on a stack of whatever that The Police had recorded an album entitled Sandinista! Except I did a search today because I was trying to find, of all things, the font in which the word was written, only to discover that no, Kris, 'twas The Clash that recorded Sandinista! Not only that, but they've reissued the album with what I swear is a new cover complete with new fonts. The Sandinista! that I remember looked like it had been scrawled on a wall with a paintbrush--the closest MacWord font that I can find that matches my memory of the thing is Sand.

So.

If anyone has a scan of the original album, or could point me in the direction of an image of the original cover, I would appreciate it. Because I fear I've invented a memory again, but I am hoping that the word as I see it in my head did once in fact exist.

Finally...does anyone out their apply skins to their iPods? If so, do you use the part of the skin that would cover the touchwheel, or do you leave the wheel bare?
