Crossed the 5000 word mark for 8 rms. So help me, I'm finishing this draft today.

Listening to Blondie's "The Hardest Part." "Heart of Glass" just ended. There's one line in that song that goes "flying high/On love's true bluish light." For years, I thought Debbie was singing "flying high/I know I'm through with Jewish guys"

[livejournal.com profile] kaygo trivia! One my my college roommates came from New Jersey, and knew Debbie Harry's sister. My brush with late 70s rock fame.

There's a proper term for that type of song lyric screw-up. There's even a website devoted to them. I used to know it, but no more.

A quick trip to google comes up with the term mondegreens.
And ditto on the 'I used to know many things it, but no more' front.
I do know that you shouldn't start a sentence with 'And' but I'm a grammar anarchist that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it ;)
He also used to think Michael Jackson's 'Dirty Diana' was 'I need a doctor' which may have been closer to the truth than we knew.
