matociquala got me thinking about the Jani casting threads of groups past, especially since she mentioned Claudia Black, who a reader told me years ago was his image of Jani. I agreed wholeheartedly. Facially, she's pretty much perfect, being attractive/striking but not "pretty". Needs to be taller, but how many 6-foot actresses are there in these size 0 days?

I've always imagined Rupert Everett as Evan because tall/rangy/dark and yes we've been nursing the crush since Princess Daisy. Tsecha varies between Sir Ian Richardson (House of Cards), Peter O'Toole, and even David Bowie now that he's entered his craggy years. James Marsters could play Niall. After all, the man is in his 40s and looks much different with his natural brown hair.

I always saw Uma Thurman as Sanalan. A tall, snaky woman who flows.

I don't know who could play Anais Ulanova. There was a French fashion designer/aristo named Jacqueline de Ribes who has the look.

I think John Malkovich could play Ceel.

And now I really need to go to sleep...
