Saturday morning
May. 20th, 2006 01:06 pmUp early. Coffee, yogurt, banana, granola (sooo treehuggy). Then off to the Big Box hardware store with the garden center to look for organic lawn care for the back yard (even more tree-huggy).
I drove Harrison the Ford pick-up in case I bought something Big (tree dies).
No organic stuff to be had--looks like I'll have to mailorder it. Shipping charges for 40-lb bags--yea.
So, I had to content myself with a couple of flower pots, a small cast metal birdbath for the front yard, and various odds and ends--metal hooks for hanging pots, snips, spikes for gardening cloth.
Back home. Grocery shopping. Hedge trimming, followed by lunch. Now back to more hedge trimming and another assorted yard work, because 60s and sunny makes it too beautiful a day to stay inside.
And finally, the fave bumper sticker of the week: "Silly cowboy--trucks are for girls"

Date: 2006-05-20 09:30 pm (UTC)It suits him. Very basic truck--hand crank windows, manual door locks, and no carpeting on the floor so I can clean him with a hose.
He does have A/C, though. My concession to civilization.
Kuro the Subaru is more kitted-out. He's more metrosexual.
And so is that bumper sticker. :D
Saw it at the hardware store this morning. I smiled.

And hey, I'm glad you picked up some stuff from Trespassers! I wish they'd tour east.

He's really torqued that iPods are all the rage and he's stuck with an in-dash 6-CD player. I can play the iPod if I use the cassette tape thingie, but that wire hanging out of the tape deck is just so tacky.
Poor Kuro.
