...or maybe it only feels that way.

A low pressure area has been stalled over the Midwest for the past three days, making for the sort of weather that earns regions nicknames like "PacNorWet". Thursday was windy as well, making the rain that much more unpleasant. But the past two days have been of the light rainy/drizzly sort that allows you to function without an umbrella. Not too bad, really.

Given as we're still recovering from last year's drought, we do need the rain. The sun has been trying to push through the cloud cover every so often, but even so we still have two or three more days of the damp drizzlies to look forward to. Everything should green up a treat.

Much done of a weekend nature. Got up early so I could drive Harrison to the emissions station before it opened. Wound up third in line, which wasn't bad. Harrison passed, which really shouldn't have surprised me. But I don't drive him all that much. and I never am sure what will set those instruments off.

Grocery shopping. Post office. Lunch consisted of ham and swiss on sourdough with dill mustard and bread and butter pickles, and a few salt and vinegar potato chips on the side. The pups are outside running around, and I should get to writing.

We're supposed to get one or two sunny days in the middle of the week. Then it's back to cloudy/drizzly.

The front yard isn't bad, but parts of the back are going to be damned difficult to cut a few days from now...assuming the ground stops squelching long enough for me to cut.

But, the few things I was able to plant last week are doing well--astilbes love wet--and the areas of lawn I reseeded look good.

One bit of advice for those looking to reseed their lawns--cheap seed isn't worth the savings. The stuff I bought from KMart was full of weeds. Back to Scott's it was.
