…on a rainy, cold, grey winter day.

NYT bestselling author Jack Campbell had some nice things to say about the Jani Kilian books in the latest issue of SFSignal:

an excellent read steeped in espionage and double-dealing that captures the reality of it all better than most thrillers set in the modern day.

It always makes me feel good when folks who know say that I nailed aspects of Jani’s life/experiences.

Still trying to work out a deal to reissue the books. When something finally works out, I will scream it from the mountaintops. Or dune tops, seeing as this is NE Illinois.

WIll you be reissuing them as ebooks?

Thanks!

That's the plan. I don't have the rights back to ENDGAME, so that keeps me from reissuing the whole set. Working on addressing that end, as well as looking into options for releasing the first four on their own.

It's always good to hear nice things. How you can work out a deal to reissue them all together.

We're working on that, but I don't know how likely it is.

Have you looked into Open Road Media? They did my backlist, and worked out a deal with the publisher for the one book that was still in print (but in print only, no ebook).

Agent and I are looking into ORM for the first 4 books. Publisher has both print and ebook rights for Endgame, so I don't know if that can be worked around without a full-fledged reversion, which we are working on but may take a while.

Just FYI ORM did 8 backlist titles for me. Jaran (the first novel of the four Jaran books) was still in print *and* the publisher still had ebook rights (but did not have the book in e-version and we deemed it unlikely they would any time soon), and my agent was able to get them to agree to deal by which we sub licensed ebook rights for that title.

I just wanted to drop by and add my vote to the column headed "People who are lined up to *pay* for the eBooks".

Someday, the story behind all this will be revealed. Suffice it to say, I am working on it. It may turn out a bit messy because I only have rights back for the first 4 books--publisher still has ENDGAME.
