Kuro is home from the garage. The Dodge Dart loaner was actually a nice little car, but it’s good to have my boy back again. I just asked him to please please please not get sick anymore this year.

There’s snow on the ground. Fancy that.

Pondering a smartphone. Android vs iPhone. Contract vs no contract. If a contract, which provider?

That teaser for ORPHAN BLACK on BBC-America looks interesting.

I like Android...as to the provider...go with who provides the service you need...I pay the $$$ for Verizon because they have coverage a remarkable distance into the wilderness!

Good to know about Verizon. If I'm on a road trip, maybe they're the best for coverage in the middle of nowhere.

I like iPhones but I am a Mac computer person too. I bought my first when they were only AT&T and inertia keeps me with them. I have taken it all over the country and not had any problems.

Thanks. I'm hearing good things about Galaxies, but I am guessing that an Android phone would not mesh with my Macs at all (music, photos).

With the iPhone it is just so easy to sync everything.

A little poking about online reveals links to apps etc that let Android phones work with Macs. You apparently need to use a lot of Googleware, though. I don't really need two calendars, and I sure as hell don't need another email address.

There are also directions for unlocking phones, which apparently allows one to use more functions and apps but also them limits the carriers you can use when making calls.

My kneejerk call is a 4S iPhone with Sprint or Verizon, but I still have $$ on my pay-as-I-go phone, and want to use that up first.
