Meme: a story I haven’t written

I haven’t posted any memes or quizzes in a while. They seem to have lessened in popularity as LJ traffic has slowed, but every so often something pops up that looks interesting.

So.

Tell me about a story I haven’t written, and I’ll give you one sentence from that story.

"'She wants payment in kind, payment in kind' they cry, as they run up and down the streets and beat on bushes and root through shrubbery and their sacks twitch and bulge and sing."

Funny thing is, while I was wondering what to write, I kept thinking of the first Esther Friesner I ever read, "A Beltane and Suspenders." The song near the end. "Bring out your lizards..."

Okay, this one merited two:

"He wondered if perhaps his Thin White Duke persona was the wrong aspect to present if he were to survive in this town."

and

"Come to me, Billy Idol Boy, and kneel before your Master."
