Coffee update

This morning I used 1/3 less coffee--and I'm giving the old unit the benefit of the doubt here--and wound up with a stronger brew. I may wind up adding a touch more coffee, but still may be looking at a 20-25% reduction. That's the equivalent of two decent cups in the morning instead of one-and-a-little-over.

Breakdown: 9 tbsps/24 oz (new) vs 7 tbsps/14 oz (old). The pre-caffeine back-of-the-envelope (literally) calculation gives me 0.375 tbsp/oz vs 0.5.

I have a ways to go to get back the price of the Technovorm, but at least the coffee tastes better, and is way hotter.

Thoughts on Kill Bill Vols 1 and 2, and other things

These were my first Tarantino films. Are they representative? The violence struck me as realistic yet comic book at the same time. Yes, I read about the movie background and some of the inspiration. But does Tarantino take the same approach in his more realistic work?

These were my first Tarantino films. Are they representative? The violence struck me as realistic yet comic book at the same time. Yes, I read about the movie background and some of the inspiration. But does Tarantino take the same approach in his more realistic work?

Weather

Rain started sometime after 330am. Coming down pretty hard now, and the
thunder has King all agitated. The rumbles have been pretty formidable.
Crockery-rattling. Then there was a flash of lightning which reminded me of
the flash you see when a transformer blows. I'm pretty sure it was indeed
lightning, as thunder followed and the lights didn't flicker.

I'm at the kitchen table. King's resting behind my chair, and Gaby is under
the table at my feet. One of those settings where you're afraid to move lest
you upset the delicate balance.

I'm bummed about the rain. Not only did the clouds block views of last
night's Supermoon, but the ground is going to get all mucky again. It had
been drying so nicely up to now.

Ghirardelli's Ground Sweet Chocolate is delicious stuff. But the powder is ground exceeding fine, and if you decide to taste it by the spoon, it goes right down your throat and up and into your sinuses.

Not quite Death by Chocolate. More like Wheezing, Coughing, Choking Fit by Chocolate.
