Ooo-kayyyy

My Twitter feed has vanished, at least in my view of Recent Entries. I know some of you don't care, but others do comment on the links and such every so often. Don't feel like picking through it today, though, so. Heck with it.

Dinner was a hot mess. Leftover roast chicken and chopped deli turkey breast fried up with chopped shallots and green pepper. Added chicken broth and yellow rice and broccoli *and* two cans of Rotel tomatoes with green chiles. Tasted spicy but flat until I shoveled in dried herbs--basil, Penzey's Bonnes Herbes mix, and ground coriander seed. Not the best thing ever, but not too bad.

I have some overripe bananas to deal with, so I will be making a loaf of b-bread for the freezer. Tomorrow, I pick up my beef/chicken order courtesy of the Flying S Ranch. Looking forward to filling my freezer with some grass-fed beef. Looking forward to the weekend, during which a thick steak will play a role.

Hawks about to start playing. Oy.

The leaves are almost all down, and there's been frost on the roofs the last few mornings. The squirrels have hollowed out one of the front-step pumpkins, and are taking aim at the other one.

Enjoying the hell out of the updated SHERLOCK. So sorry that there's only one more episode. So much verve and spark amid a sea of *shrug*.

Oh well. Time to bake and pray for the Hawks.

This version of banana bread contains chopped dates, chopped apple, allspice, mace, and cinnamon. Oh, does it smell good. I wrapped up the half that remained from the last loaf and popped it in the freezer. It's good, but I really want to taste this new one.
