ksmith: (gaby2)
I came home to find several areas of upchuck on the dining room rug. I wasn't 100% sure that it was Gaby, but it looked like it was hers, and she has shown signs of being the sort of dog who sometimes gets an upset tum for no discernible reason.

I cleaned it up and was in the middle of changing clothes when she tossed up again. Not very much, and this time there was a little blood in the mix. In all other ways she seems fine--alert, good spirits. Not sick, iow. Phoned the vet, who advised a bland dinner of chicken and rice. If she upchucks again, it's to the e-vet with her.

Vet also advised famotidine, so I gave Gaby a 20mg tablet in a pea-sized bit of wet dog food. So far, fingers crossed, that has stayed down. I then went out to get chicken. Am cooking that now. Please let that stay down.

UPDATE: fingers still crossed. Her light dinner was 4 hours ago, and nothing untoward in the house. Even if she lost it outside as a result of all the excitement over the Neighbors! Splitting! Logs!, I can't help but think that she would have tossed up in the house as well.

I'm wondering if it's a delayed reaction to her homecoming and all the stress that entailed?

Another day of famotidine, I think. And more chicken and rice.
