May. 26th, 2009 03:42 pmFound an interesting item in the mail when I got home from Madison. Apparently a company I did business with experienced a "data security incident" back in February, which they learned of in March. That was how my bankcard number wound up being used to purchase clothing in the UK this weekend, when I was in Madison.
The company, Batteries.com, is providing me with a free two-year membership to a credit monitoring service. I also checked my credit reports--all are OK. I also reported the card breach to the police, and have a case number that I can provide my bank so that I can get my money back.
What joy.
Like I said, home. The pups were happy to see me, and are now exhausted. The grass sprung up about 6 inches in a week, and everything is growing in the garden.
