It's 12:22 pm cst
Feb. 6th, 2009 12:22 pm...and I am the proud owner of a new cable box. Of course, the pixilation issue has not recurred since I phoned about it, but the tech said that sometimes an occasional glitch is the first sign that a box is out its way out. So after he confirmed that the signal coming into the house was strong, he replaced the box.
I have an old TV, an RCA with the old fashioned wooden cabinet. The volume pad hadn't worked for the longest time, and I assumed it was shot from wear and tear. But the tech had to reset the TV so it would sync with the box--my interpretation as he told me what he did but I forgot--and he must have reset the whole control box because now the volume control works again.
I know I'll have to get a new TV someday, but for the time being I will add my bit of economic stimulus in other ways. Grocery shopping. Dog food purchases.
