At the dealership, having Kuro's brakes worked on. I brought the laptop, intending to work. I had installed the Airport Extreme card months ago, but have never given it an airing since I still haven't got 'round to setting up the wireless at home. So, no idea whether the card worked or not.

It does. The dealership has wireless. Isn't that nice of them?

The last time I tried to use the hardwire with this laptop, it didn't work. Even though the cable was live, I couldn't connect to the internet. I posted about this before, and consensus was that it was likely the motherboard, which isnt worth fixing on a going-on-4-years-old laptop.

But I know the wireless works, and if I can just get the network set up at home, I can use this laptop a little longer. Because I know what kind of MacBook I want, and I can't justify the $$ right now.

They found remains of a giant scorpion in the UK. Biggest bug ever, they say.

This is giving me the shivers just thinking about it.

Every week or so, John (does this man ever rest?) Scalzi runs a feature in one of his many blogs entitled The Big Idea, in which an author discusses a major plot point/idea in their latest work.

Well, guess who's featured this week?
