Is anyone else noticing that the latest version of Firefox occasionally steers you toward third party programs? This has happened to me twice in the last week--one was to a registry clean-up program and the other was supposed to fix errors in, iirc, the registry. Both the detour signs had the Firefox logo in the corner, so either Firefox is in partnership with these folks (or they're Firefox programs) or someone has figured out how to hack Firefox quite neatly.

I was using Firefox as my default browser, but I don't like this stuff. I have also noticed that I need to close down and restart FF every so often because links stop working. It just doesn't seem to be working as smoothly as it did when I first got it.

I've just returned from the annual dogwalk at the shelter where I got Mickey. This is the first time I attended, and to be honest, I didn't want to go--I was worn out from yesterday, and I just wanted to hang around the house. But, I had received pledges from a few co-workers, and I didn't want to give back the money, so I went.

I'm glad I did. It turned out to be pretty well attended--cars parked up and down the road where the shelter's located, some folks out walking dogs, and others in the driveway/enclosure talking, looking over the bake sale offerings, and waiting for dogs to take out.

My first dog was Pepper Ann, a small female with a shepherd head and markings but a small, wiry body. She'd been found abandoned in a yard. She was very timid--she let me walk her, and she sniffed my hand, but as soon as I stopped walking and tried to get her to come to me, the tail would droop. My second dog was a puppy named Blondie, either a golden mix or yellow lab. A complete bundle of energy. I wound up trading her for a pit bull named Onyx--meanwhile, the lady who took Blondie had her rigged with a harness, which made her easier to handle.

Onyx was a trudger. I didn't want to take her too far because it was hot, this was her second walk, and she was overweight and panting quite a bit. I took her back in time to see Blondie splashing in a kiddie pool and pulling out the plug every time someone put it back in. Adorable pup, but she's going to be a handful and a half for someone.

I was going to take out another dog, but a line had formed, most dogs had already been taken out, and I was dripping. So I got some juice, a brat, and some chocolate chip brownies at the bake sale. Then I came home to my pups, who got to lounge in the A/C while I was out sweating.

I need to mow the front, but I think I'll wait until evening. I should write.

...Mickey is stretched out on his bed, his head under my chair so that I can reach it easily and apply scritches as needed. King has given up dropping well-chewed toys in my lap and is now sacked out under my desk, his upper body atop my foot. This is, I assume, to make sure I don't move without him knowing *immediately*. Because King is a dog that likes to stay informed.
