The day and leading up to it
Jul. 4th, 2007 08:20 amStorms last night. King hates thunderbumpers, and spent most of the night with his head under the bed.
As I did laundry last night, I looked up at one of the window wells--the washer and dryer are in the basement--to find a face staring back. Was a toad, trapped in the hot, dry well. I went outside and scooped it out and set it in a damp spot under the hose tap. Reseated the well cover--by the time I turned around, Toad was gone. That's gratitude for you.
Mom may move to the interim care facility today. I didn't think they arranged these moves on holidays, but apparently they do. I will likely drive her there because there are no wheelchair vans available at that time. We'll have help at beginning and end of trip, so it should be ok.
Now I need to eat breakfast and fit in some grocery shopping, otherwise pups will starve.
