Saturday morning
Feb. 24th, 2007 12:34 pmI can count on one hand the number of times over the course of the year when I eat an entire donut. I will break off a piece here and there. Cut one in half. But eat one in its entirety at one sitting--not me. Part of it is calorie guilt and part of it is health. I mean, why not just smear the fat on the insides of my arteries and save time.
But, today is cold. I've already shoveled my 85' driveway once today, and will do it one or two more times before the weekend is over thanks to the storm that will be moving through tonight. Could wind up with a few inches, or a foot. The highly-paid experts can't tell, and I can't, either.
So, I capped off this morning's errands by stopping by the local family-owned donut place and buying a dozen. Most will be frozen so they don't lose the *fresh", but one delicious buttermilk ring bit the buglight. It was sooo good.
Tomorrow, pork roast with dressing. Because a weekend with blizzard warnings is a weekend that needs gravy.
