I like nice handbags. Call it a weakness.

I didn't used to care. I once bought a Kathy Ireland dark green nylon and vinyl mini knapsack from KMart at an age when I had no business buying Kathy Ireland anything. I used a seamripper to pick off the KI logo badge, and used the thing until the strap tore. Five or six years. Pretty good for a bag that, iirc, cost me $10-$12 at the most.

Then my tastes changed. Maybe getting out of the lab and into the office played a part. All I can say is Thank God for eBay and nice used bags because brand new just is never going to work.

Scored a very nice used Coach shoulder bag. It arrived today. I don't think this particular style is on sale anymore, which makes it vintage. Or something.

Dry skin

Winter in the Midwest=Dry skin. Go figure.

My elbows are the worst, for whatever reason. Heels are bad, too. None of my usual moisture remedies were working well, and I'd resigned myself to the usual winter flaking.

Last week, I did my daily click on the Breast Cancer Site. the click-through took me to the usual product offerings. One of them led to a Burt's Bees product page. I liked their lip balm, so went ahead and checked things out. They offered a winter hand care kit, and a foot care kit, among other things. I decided the give the foot care kit a try because it didn't cost too much. It contained Coconut Foot Creme, which didn't sound too promising--I like coconut, but not in skin care--but I was feeling experimental.

The Creme arrived. It's not really creme-y. If you're familiar with A&D ointment, it's kinda like that, except it's the color of earwax and has a coconutty/rosemary/pepperminty smell. Vegetable glycerin, so it's not too greasy.

The stuff is nice. Works a treat on my elbows.

So I went to the Burt's Bees' site, and I can't find it. I did find it at Drugstore.com. I should probably play it safe and load up in case it's been discontinued.
