Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes. It did turn out to be a good day, despite the getting older part, which I know isn't optional and yes, the alternative sucks.

Now back at work. It feels so like a Monday. Glad it's not.

Managed to rewrite/fix several chapters over the long weekend. Unfortunately, I found a subplot that I mentioned in Ch 4 (make that Ch 5) that I then neglected to sprinkle through subsequent chapters. Need to go back and tease more sentences into an already solidifying structure. Hate doing that. You need to find just the right wording and not interfere with the beat of the existing scenes. Otherwise you're left with the word equivalent of those iron-on denim patches. Yes, they're blue, and yes, they're denim. But.

Healthy lunch today--baked chicken breast with parmesan crumb topping and 2 veg--brussels sprouts (yes, I do like them) and mixed bean/carrot thingie mix thing. Oatmeal with a sliced banana for breakfast. We'll see how long this lasts.
