*pries eyes open*

Long day. The predicted rain stayed south of the city, so more biking was accomplished. A few circuits at my mile track, then over to the marina. A shade over 12 miles. This time I wore the shorts *and* the gloves. They both made a difference.

No interesting wildlife seen. Birds, including goldfinches. A frog, sunning itself on the pavement. At least last week I saw deer, hawks, and a garter snake.

Grades. Road grades. Sometimes you can see the grade, sometimes you can't. But your legs always know. Then they let you know. That they know.

Writing done. 1250 words or so, some difficult scenes. Still need to finish off some business and expand one scene a *lot*, as in, write it. Jani and Torin are zooming in on details in an image recorded with a far-future device--is resolution an issue or isn't it? I'm tending to think it isn't, because it is convenient for me to think so.

Spooky moment--outside with the dogs this afternoon when I heard the park coyotes commence to yip. I'm used to hearing them at dusk--when do they hunt? I wonder if they caught something?

Anyway, a spooky sound. So discordant and weird that it sounds as though it's coming from some strange synthesizer.
