Just came back from dinner. A small nouveau place with outdoor seating, the interior open to the outside. Sat inside, near the outside. Best of both worlds on this beautiful day.
Started with a funky martini called a Le Monster--cointreau, absolute citron, and lemon juice. Followed this with soup, chickpea with saffron and, IIRC, cumin. Very good. Wholegrain bread with olive oil for dipping. A glass of merlot accompanying a grilled portobello mushroom wrap with hummus, tomatoes and sprouts and a side of redskin potato salad. All very good.
Couldn't ask for a nicer evening.
