Wish upon a robin!

Saw my first robin of 2006 a few minutes ago, and made a wish.

Said robin hopped down my street, then into the neighbor's yard, then away.

Hope the wish come true.

In other news, I can tell Spring is in the air--I have my first scratchy throat of the allergy season.

And I read this morning that they're predicting a drop back to the 20s/30s by midweek. Rats.

I'll try not to think about that. As it is, I'm just glad that that last stubborn patch of super-thick ice in the corner of my driveway has melted. I definitely should have bought one of the houses for sale across the street--they get sun on their driveways all day long.

I probably shouldn't mention I've seen robins all year long and the last couple of days it's been almost 80 degrees outside....

80 is just a tad too warm. 70-75 is perfect. My allergies just love it.

I do like winter. What I don't like is the thaw, and the resulting mud and drabness. My season is mid-Spring to early Summer--the flowers are still going strong, and the battering by the summer sun has yet to begin.

I didn't know you wish on robins. We just enjoyed them hopping about with their bright flash of color, as opposed to zillions of sparrows.
