Funny; I love packing but hate to travel! I've even studied books and web sites on how best to pack for various trips. I did quite a bit of overnights-away for my job over the decades, and got quite good at it. Nowadays I never travel with but one small rolling suitcase and my CPAP in it s shoulder bag (which also carries my on-board necessities like wallet, notebook, and reading material), and take them both on the plane with me. It's so sweet to just get off the plane and walk out the airport door - no waiting at the baggage claim carousel...

I'm not sure if I could have gotten everything in a carry-on. Once you add more than one pair of shoes, the space in the suitcase decreases quickly. I think I did well keeping the rolling case under 50 pounds.

Then I went to Nordstrom's yesterday, and bought Boots! On! Sale! I may have to ship those home. Hell, I may decide to ship the whole suitcase home, and fly with just my backpack.

Oh, yes, I'm a big fan of mailing things back home to me. Somebody ELSE gets to lug them halfway across the continent.
