Gaby had given chase. It managed to get away from her and dart up the garage gutter. But it couldn't gain a foothold and all I could hear as I approached was the clatter of claws against metal as it tried to climb. I didn't see it enter and thought it was a bird at first--removed the lower piece of gutter and saw a flurry of brown, first rear legs then the whole body as it tumbled out and darted across the driveway, Gaby barking all the while.
Maybe that was the execution that never took place. The beastie has a death wish, though. Its days are numbered.
