Has anyone tried this Rustoleum cabinet/countertop refinishing stuff, or know someone who has?

I ask because it looks interesting, and I'm tempted. My kitchen has needed a facelift since forever, but I want to keep the same cabinets and I don't want anything torn out/disassembled. If money were no object, I would pay someone to do it all: refinish the cabinets--they're real wood w/ 3/4" thick wood shelving, and they're staying--install interesting glass in the upper level doors, and replace the backsplash, countertops, and hardware. Possibly retrofit a dishwasher, but frankly I can live without one.

The refrigerator is also a problem, kinda. The top of the original unit was only a fraction of an inch from the bottom of the cupboard, and after my folks had the new wood floors installed, the fridge, both old and new, no longer fit in the niche designed for it and has thus stood off to the side. I was going to shave a little more wood from the bottom of the cabinet, but then read that a refrigerator should have at least three inches of headspace to allow for heat dissipation. That would mean removing the entire small section of cabinet, then sanding and smoothing, and I don't know if I want to do that. However, since I don't have the fridge hooked up to a water supply, I could just move it to the other side of the kitchen, and install a shelving unit in the niche that could hold small appliances, large platters and pots/pans, etc. I could also get a freestanding peninsula that would provide extra workspace and serve to separate the kitchen from the dining area. Right now it's completely open.

Anyway, if I did this myself, I could save major bucks. I think the cabinet refinishing looks good, but I am more curious about the countertop reworking. My countertops are still in okay shape--no dents or cracks. They're just worn. If I could resurface them, it would be kinda cool.

I wouldn't do this until the fall--too much other stuff needs to get done beforehand. Just gathering intel.

And here's one site w/ commentary. The only apparent drawback is that you may need more than one kit. Thing is, I have a pretty small kitchen.

This is looking more and more a possibility....
