Good thoughts
Jun. 6th, 2011 02:04 amGaby had a seizure this evening. AFAIK, it's her first ever. I took her to the emergency vet--by the time we arrived (about 35 minutes), she was pretty much back to normal except for excessive drooling.
Blood work was normal. Xrays didn't show anything bad in the lungs or GI tract, but a radiologist will confirm. Gaby's BP was normal, which is a good sign. If there was something growing in her head, BP could be elevated. They're keeping her on seizure watch overnight. I am hoping to have her back tomorrow.
After everything else is ruled out, the likely conclusion is epilepsy. But there's still a ways to go with all this, so. I'll know more when I know.
She was fine when I left the hospital, although she definitely did *not* want to stay behind. She sat in the middle of the lobby and planted her front feet--the vet had to boost up her rear to get her to move. Which she did, finally, because she is a good little girl.
This came completely out of the blue. Good thoughts, please.
