Friday this 'n' that
Feb. 13th, 2009 07:50 pmTaking two weeks vacation to finish the wip revisions, among a few other things. I don't like doing it, but I need the unbroken stretches of time. This may put the kibosh on Wiscon this year, since that and the Novelists Inc conference in October would likely chew up the balance of my vacation, and I would like to have a few days available for the odd emergency...as well the odd three-day weekend to work on the book that is due in December.
A couple of years ago, I received a free bottle of wine from Mankas Hills Vineyards. I really enjoyed it, so I went ahead and ordered a sampler case. I enjoyed those wines as well, but Life Happened and time passed and I never got around to ordering again from them.
Until tonight. I ordered another sampler and joined their Wine Club, so every three months I will receive one bottle each of three of their selected wines. If I can find a chocolate club, I'll be a happy writer.
I love my deep freezer. Just saying.
There are four dog beds scattered through the house. King's old bed, which has a new pad. King's new bed. Mickey's old bed, which both King and Gaby seem to favor, and Gaby's new bed, which is all tufted and couchy and upholstered and all that. So. Where does a certain little girly dog sleep during the day, while I'm at work?
On my couch. Her footie prints show up on the microsuede. So does her hair.
I've never watched numb3rs, but James Marsters is tonight's Special Guest Villain, so I'll be watching it tonight.
Possibility of snow tonight. Not very much--an inch, maybe--so I hope the town doesn't spread salt. This week's rains washed away the winter build up, and it's now possible to drive without seeing great billows of white powder in one's rear view. So, no salt please? With any luck, maybe no snow either.
