Guitar arrived! I was a little concerned after the UPS delivery person commented that the packaging was terrible, but all turned out ok. This guitar is smaller than I thought it would be, and lighter. And it had steel strings, for which I'm grateful. Don't like nylon.
I'm very glad tomorrow is Friday.

Date: 2005-10-14 10:59 am (UTC)I did, although judging from the UPS delivery person's reaction--we've had the same one since we've lived here, and she's not inclined to bs--I'm lucky it arrived in one piece. It was packed in a soft gig bag, wrapped in three layers of (admittedly thick) bubble wrap, then inserted into a jury-rigged cardboard container. Not an actual box, but a cardboard oval. The end flaps were slit and taped in such a way that they overlapped enough to remain closed. It was defintely not a standard shipping container. I don't think writing "Fragile--Guitar" on the side serves as sufficient warding to keep the smash-me gremlins away.
I'm still trying to figure out how to word my feedback. I mean, the thing arrived in an incredibly timely manner--final bid on Saturday, arrival of guitar on Thursday. Technically, everything's great. But if anything had fallen on that package, especially on the neck...
