The horrendous below-zero temps will finally be pushing out tonight/tomorrow, with temps warming to the 20s (F)--yea! The heat wave will likely drag a couple of inches of snow along for the ride, but I'm not sure I care. It will be nice to walk outside and not feel pain within minutes. It will be nice to give the dogs a chance to stay outside for a couple of hours at a shot, as well. They both have pent-up energy to run off.

After dragging them upstairs, ripping out batteries and hard drives, dragging them out to the truck and loading them on, then driving around with them for a couple of days, the old computers and other electronics were finally dropped off for recycling today. It was sooo nice to get that stuff out of the basement. Long term plans involve dumping more stuff, then ripping out the weird table thingie that the previous owners built along one wall and replacing it with a couple of free-standing shelf units. Eventually, I'll call 1-800-GOT-JUNK or some other salvage company to take out the broken treadmill and two steel desks and other junk. And then I will have the basement under control. One goal for this year. Should be doable, she said, fingers crossed.

Monday will mark four weeks since I turned in the wip. Thought I'd have the revision letter this week, but not yet. Not complaining--it's not like I don't have other things to do. If I were really industrious, I'd pull together the '08 receipts and start with the tabulating. I might not have the chance again until well into February.

I have not written much of anything. I have thought about what needs fixing in the wip, and about the possible Jani novella, which would probably be the story of how Niall Pierce got his scar. Yes, I know I've talked about that one before, but it's been changed around a lot since I first thought of it. Two POVs at least, Niall's and Jani's. Still think that getting inside Niall's head for any length of time is going to be a challenge. And I don't want to start it until I know I have about a month clear to hammer out the story, so that means I wait until after the wip is done. So much for making every writing minute count. OTOH, maybe my brain just needed the rest.
