Jan. 11th, 2009 06:42 pmFriday is Recycling Day at my company, so I dragged all the electronic junk up from the basement and piled it in the dining room. I want to get it into the truck by Thursday, because temps are supposed to drop to below zero F and that's not a time I want to be carting stuff outside. So far, 2 monitors, 2 CPUs, a laser printer, several keyboards, a laptop, a typewriter, an old Brother word processor, a radio, and a stereo so old that it has a pop-up slot for 8-tracks. I may keep the radio--I don't know.
The size and weight of those PCs boggles me. I look at the laptop I'm using now, this 13" 5-pound does-everything-I-need, and I shake my head.
In other news, the turkey stock is still simmering. Hawks are playing the Predators; so far, the score is 1-all. The Hawks seem to be going through a scoring drought. I hope they get over it.
In even more other news, I ordered some MacBook and iBook skins from Gelaskins, which I think I heard about by way of
rolanni. "Shore," "Bookshelf," and "Lady Baroque" for the MacBook, and "Kobe" for the poor little iBook, which will be 5 years old next month and is still working.
