and the reviews are mixed
Well. The replacement batteries for my old Jornada arrived today. I installed one. It has apparently charged. Crossing fingers that it lasts.
Then, in a fit of exuberance, I went to the PocketMac site and downloaded the software, which is supposed to allow the Jornada to work with the iMac the way it used to with my PC. Well, so far things don't look too great. The Jornada and the iMac talked to one another for a little while, but now they won't--I can't get the two to recognize one another even though they're connected. The Jornada didn't like some of the software I tried to load onto it. I guess it's possible that this particular Pocket PC lacks some of the features needed to make this work.
I don't absolutely need the two to talk to one another. I can always save files to the flash card and transfer them using a card reader. It just bugs me that for a little while, they talked to one another, and now they don't.

If I don't check on the flags, when I want to have my mac talk to my GPS, nothing happens.
Just an idea.

I really do think I have an older version of Pocket PC that doesn't have all the files necessary to work with Pocket Mac. Some of the Pocket Mac files refused to load. I couldn't load some new backgrounds (separate program) either, again because of incompatability. I think I may have to uninstall-reinstall to get it to work.
If nothing else, I will have the program in place if I decide to replace the Jornada with a newer Pocket PC. Right now, though, no talky to one another.
