There I was, wondering when the heck the notice would come through that the Feds had accepted my return via TT. Three days had passed, which is too long.
So I checked TT, and found the Federal DCN waiting for me, with the acceptance date. Pulled out what I thought was just the status sheet for the IL return, and saw that info about the Fed return was woven throughout. They had accepted the thing the day after I filed, so I'm done.
The junk guy will be coming on Monday to clear out the garage and the basement. I'll be taking a vacation day so that I can help sort things. To my surprise and delight, there is only one refrigerator in the garage, not two. I don't remember when Dad got rid of the old white box, but he apparently did.
The weekend will be spent clearing out the remaining refrigerator, which contains tools and junk. Maybe tossing some boxes. I've already been checking ads for those nice garage worktables and tool cabinets. I'm starting to feel about hardware stores the way I feel about office supply stores--oh, look, shiny! Me want now!
Will also buy a birdbath this weekend to take the place of the old smashed-up model.
In even more exciting news, the enzyme has been added to the doggie septic tank, along with a few days worth of whatever and lots of water. Now we see how well it all breaks down. I feel like I've started a science project.

Date: 2004-04-15 09:28 am (UTC)Well, I added about 6 gallons of water for the first fill, and after 24 hours, not much was left. Last night, I added 7-8 gallons, and it was already starting to soak in by the time I added the last gallon.
Granted, we're already a couple of inches short of rain, which may be impacting this. If we get the rain this weekend that they're predicting, the fast soak rate may slow.
I purposely chose to sink this in an area of the backyard that didn't pool with water after heavy rains, in the interest of good drainage. Looks like I may have gotten it.
