On being sidetracked

I hate filing and cleaning up receipts, old magazines, etc. So why, when I should be packing, do I find it necessary to sort through stacks of receipts and file them, purge magazines, and in general straighten up?

I can see it now--10pm, when I should be fast asleep, there I'll be, trying to tuck in the shirt sleeves so they don't wrinkle and rolling up socks and stuffing them in shoes.

I think this post pretty much explains my relationship with deadlines.
