We'll be there, but probably not at the banquet ...

yes. I have been informed I am going. *g*

I'll be there because I got a free ticket (I think) as a member of the jury.

I'm going!

Not sure yet. It depends on what kind of flights I'm able to get for Sunday. I'll probably try to book my flight sometime after Labor Day, depending on how the situation with Northwest is unfolding.

The entrees sound pretty good, and I like Peter Straub. I would just need to let Programming know not to schedule anything for me opposite the banquet.

I think they tend not to have programming opposite the banquet.

Flight times are the other issue for us, too, as we want to leave Sunday evening as well.

We should indeed have a WFCLJ gathering sometime.

Or maybe just all wear name badges reminding each other who we are online. :-)

They had an LJ party at Wiscon--you could pick up little stickers with your username to affix to your badge.

I am all in favor of as many gatherings as possible.

Not going this year. But if I was, yes, I would be at the banquet.

Next year is a definite yes.

The Fun part of the banquet is that everyone dresses to the nines, and you get to see (and be part of it). The Not Fun part: well, it's a banquet. Speeches. More speeches. Rubber chicken. Y'know . . . a banquet.

But it's OUR banquet.

Your call.

Everyone dresses up? That would be nice. Plus, as I said, I like Peter Straub. Never seen the man in person, but I like his books, which I know isn't the same thing but it's all I got.

I am leaning towards going. Just need to assemble act and send check and such.

Straub's a gent.

Dressup is *fun* - Delia & I love trying on fancy clothes, and we always look great, but then we look glumly at each other and say, "Yeah, but where would we wear them?" Answer is: "World Fantasy banquet!" This works once a year, anyway....
