Bang, bang, bang went the hammer

Pound, pound, pound went my head.

They're still remodeling the day job office area. They shifted cubicles over the weekend, and are now whacking, pounding, and drilling in preparation for erecting the new offices. It's not constant noise, but it does seem to time itself so that you're talking on the phone when it reaches its peak.

It seemed that last week, they worked through the morning, then departed after lunch. It would be nice if they followed the same pattern this week.

Huh? Didn't you just move into your new office last spring? Or was that my sister-in-law? Ah, well, they have a job to get done, too. But you'd think that by now, someone would invent a silent hammer!

IIRC, I moved to the new office last Spring. But they're rearranging it because they needed more offices, which have a slightly larger area than the cubes, thus necessitating the rearranging.
