A short fight scene completed. It's hard when the opponent really knows what they're doing because, well, you really can't get away with having them drop their hands, or not fall properly, or keel over courtesy of the Jani version of the Vulcan Death Grip.

Nice spray of dirt and leaves when that planter tumbled across the floor, though.

Sigh. The death grip would be very cool :-)

Death grips would certainly cut down on the vast quantities of care that usually need to be taken when writing hand-to-hand fight scenes. Wouldn't matter whether Jani grabs a wrist, arm, or elbow with her left--or should it be her right--hand. Wouldn't matter how opponent falls, and what position they assume when they get to their feet--which they do all too quickly and with little if any damage sustained...dammit--and what position Jani assumes as she braces for their next attempt to knock her block off.

Death grips. At a distant. Psychic death grips. Your hero wouldn't even need to leave the house.

A planter. My mind sets a scene. See me suffer because I won't be able to read it for ages!

Janni's not a comfortable person to be around, but she sure is fascinating to watch.

Is your scene in a library? MIne is.

See me suffer because I won't be able to read it for ages!

See me suffer because I keep writing and writing and writing...

Jani's not a comfortable person to be around, but she sure is fascinating to watch.

I always kinda feel sorry for her when people say things like this. It's like when a male friend said that he'd sleep with her, but he wouldn't want to date her. She's a GOOD PERSON.

Ok, so she's a little prickly...

Prickly? That woman is DRIVEN, and she doesn't even know by what! You give her a lemon meringue pie, and she'd expect munitions to be hidden inside, rather than just enjoying the combination of tastes. It doesn't help that half of that drive is because she hates being maneuvered or manipulated, and she's both, and she really hates not being able to see ahead. She's running at 200mph on an old state highway at night with no lights, and it makes her crazy.

Now I know you've never seen this outline.

I think you might like this one...

< grin > I do believe I will!

She's fabulous because she never gives up, never surrenders, and keeps her Jani-ness intact. She's my hero.
