Once again, we have gone from early spring directly to midsummer. Temps have hit 85-90F for the last few days, and the humidity has climbed steadily. Luckily I live close to the lake, so there's some cooling, and a nice breeze in the evening.

The skeeters are out in force, however. Mowed the backyard this evening, and have a nice bloodstain on the leg of my better khakis at the spot where some bloodsucker met with Death of Mosquitoes.

Writing semi-steadily. A momentous event has occurred in Jani 5, and I am giving it its due, which means it is playing out over 5-6 chapters and 3 POVs. Tricky dialogue. Going back over previous books to see what was said and how certain things were done so that Consistency is Maintained.

Business changes have occurred. Playing it coy for now, but I think I made a good decision.

Made the first of the dreaded annual appointments for the usual checkups/screenings. Running a few months late, and finally decided that as much as I wish I could forget all about it, my penchant for preventative maintenance really should extend to cover self. Damn it.

Writing, even semi-steadily, is good. And the fact that you're bothering with continuity and not relying on armwaving and YATIs to explain paradoxes is appreciated, believe me.

As for the preventative maintenance, yup, it sucks. But it's also good for you, like liver and regular reading of the BBC website, so go do it.

YATIs??

Hate going to the doctor. With a purple passion. Turning an Eeyore writer's imagination loose on whatever aches and pains happen to crop up just isn't pretty.

YATI -- Yet Another Trek Inconsistency.

As for the Eeyore tendencies, true, that makes evaluating any potential problems even more fraught. But the relief when you find out it's just a cold/flu/nothing important is nice. And if it ever does turn out to be something major, then you've caught it early, which is half the battle.
