A day of sorts...
Jun. 13th, 2005 08:16 pmMonday. 'nuff said.
Got the latest issue of Vanity Fair containing the article about Deep Throat. What I like about VF is that along with occasional forays into politics and other current events, they also cover murders. Society murders. Seamy society murders, like endless replays of The Two Mrs Grenvilles. This latest one involves a multi-millionaire investment banker in Geneva who was shot by his mistress while wearing a latex bodysuit with his hands tied behind his back. One hypothesis, courtesy of Paris Match, has it that she thought he was having second thoughts about his $1 million dollar gift to her.
Those rich people. The antics they get themselves up to.
Will most likely be taking Mickey to the vet tomorrow, depending on when the office calls me. I left them a message tonight--he's suffering from colitis of some sort (I'll spare the details), and we need to find out what it is. King appears to have a touch of it as well--they're both bouncy, both eating. It's just that their stuff isn't as it should be.
It's always something.
In J5 news, writing a scene that will apparently contain a neat little murder. Didn't plan it that way--in the original outline, the murder comes later and a different person gets offed. But this seems to make sense, at least at this point, so we'll go with it.
Cuurently rereading Pterry's GOING POSTAL. Next on the list will be a first novel that's been getting quite a buzz, THE HISTORIAN by Elizabeth Kostova. Already #5 on Amazon, starred reviews from PW and Booklist. It's about a search for Dracula. I'm really interested to see how this reads.
