Kinda cool out your way, is it? I read cmpriest's mutter--which is like a tweet, but with added flavoring--that she would not, on principle, turn on the central heat in July.

The guest room is a mess, but we'd have figured something out.

Lake Shore Drive is apparently buckling thanks to the heat. It's pretty bad when you look forward to a cool-off to the lower/mid 80s.

Hot everywhere? Actually, not so hot in Seattle. We haven't broken 75 yet (http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KBFI/2010/7/6/MonthlyHistory.html#calendar) this year. I look forward to it (http://www.wunderground.com/US/WA/Seattle.html).

A week ago today we set a record overnight low. Now we're looking at record highs. Hoping it does cool off to the 80s by the weekend, otherwise the cancer bike ride on Saturday is going to be less than fun, especially for those that get a later start.

We're about to go from wintry to blasting heat with nothing much in the way of transition... and our house is usually ten degrees hotter than it is outside.

I've been longing for heat, but I'm betting it'll get old.

The forecast is for 61F, but I very much doubt that we'll make it over 60F on this side of the hills. Blustery too.

Living this far on this side of the fog line, I am certainly not squeamish about running the heater...and sitting around in a fluffy bathrobe.

If it gets to me, I can always travel a few miles and get to the 70s...and mid 90s is only an hour or so away (low 90s is an hour away by subway).

I heard about that later--I didn't realize.

We have another scorcher today--we've already had more 90+F days so far than we dad all of last summer. The grass is starting to brown, and the cilantro and parsley have gone to seed. I wish I could send you about 10-15 degrees. Wherever the happy medium is, it ain't here.
